I need to bite my own tongue on this one. Coz I used to not like (not so much of ‘hate’ as oppose to ‘dislike’) Angelina Jolie, especially after news came out that she was (or could be) the cause of breaking up Hollywood’s golden couple back then. I used to think so what if you’re a humanitarian helping others in need around the world when you’re breaking up other couples’ marriages?
What about the times when she said she would never do such a thing (breaking marriages up) because her parents (or maybe just her mum, I can’t remember exactly) went through such heart break because of the exact same situation and yet, that was exactly what she did then!
I suppose when all that happen I was still a mere teenager and impressions were formed and impressed on me pretty quickly then. But years later, and hopefully with some wisdom gain, I came to realised that you can’t always rely solely on the tabloids. They might be news, but it could really well be half truths. And that isn’t the same as the whole truth. As much as anyone would want to believe it is.
Reading this article, (and yes I know now to read such news with a pinch of salt) I can’t help but feel that this lady really deserves the respect she commands. Perhaps Brad & Jen’s marriage was long gone before she ever came along, who knows its Hollywood after all. But right now, they seem like a happy couple with a cute brood to boot. And granted I have never experience or know anyone personally who has undergone a mastectomy (what more a double!) I can only fathom the immense amount of courage and self sacrifice she had to put in and give up to put her children’s needs (ultimately) as priority, adopted or otherwise.
You keep doing what you’re doing Angie. The world could certainly use more of you nowadays.
